INTERNATIONAL MASTER CLASS EMERGENCY CARE
9 – 12 MARCH 2010 IN LONDON

 
 
The Julius Center is organising a Master Class in Emergency Care in the UK from 9 – 12 March 2010 in London, for a maximum of 40 managers and experienced professionals.
 

The Master class is being organised in collaboration with The King’s Fund Centre, which is located in the centre of London, close to Oxford Circus and Regent Street. This centre holds a leading position in the UK in connection with education and research in the field of health care innovation.

The lectures will be held at the King’s Fund Centre.

Topics include:
  1. Scaling up in disaster situations
  2. Telephone emergency help (NHS Direct)
  3. Measuring the quality of A&E departments, Ambulance care and doctor's surgeries
  4. The purchase of emergency care by financial authorities
  5. Emergency care policy and the financial crisis.
 
The excursions will take place in London and the surrounding area. Destinations are:
  1. A&E departments of large hospitals
  2. Walk-in centres for daytime GP care
  3. The ambulance call centre for the whole of London with its 10 million inhabitants
  4. A centre for acute stroke sufferers requiring thrombolysis quickly
  5. Crisis services for acute psychiatric help
  6. The London trauma helicopter service
 
The site visits will take place on the Thursday in groups of 8 to 10 people. You can take part in up to 3 site visits. The programme is arranged so that you put together your own route, with the focus on ambulance care, for example.
